Technical
Assistance and the Local School
Wellness Policy Interagency
Workgroup
USDA's Food and Nutrition
Service (FNS) is working with
the Office of Safe and Drug Free
Schools of the Department of
Education and the U.S.
Department of Health and Human
Services, acting through the
Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention (CDC). This
Interagency Workgroup will
continue to provide information and technical
assistance to state and local
educational agencies and school
food authorities to meet these
new local school wellness policy
requirements.
This Interagency Workgroup has published a
5-year technical assistance
plan, which will be updated upon
the completion of a needs
assessment (including additional
stakeholder consultations).
State agencies should direct any
questions about this plan to
their FNS Regional Office.
